Psychotherapy

Clinical Background

I am a registered qualifying psychotherapist providing therapy to adults experiencing depression, anger, trauma, grief, and occupational stress. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches and structured, goal-oriented treatment planning.

I focus on helping clients improve emotional regulation, process traumatic experiences, reduce symptom burden, and restore functional stability in both personal and professional domains. Treatment emphasizes practical skill development, cognitive and emotional processing, and measurable progress.

Policing Background

In addition to my clinical training, I have professional experience within policing. This background informs my understanding of operational stress, cumulative exposure to critical incidents, organizational pressure, and the cultural expectations placed on first responders and frontline professionals.

Those working in service roles are often managing hypervigilance, sleep disruption, irritability, emotional detachment, and strain in relationships while maintaining high performance standards. My familiarity with this environment allows for direct, practical work that respects the realities of the profession while addressing its psychological impact.

How My Journey Began

My interest in psychotherapy grew from a long-standing curiosity about human behaviour and how people make sense of difficult experiences. Through my academic background in psychology and professional work experiences, I developed a strong appreciation for the ways stress, loss, trauma, and life transitions can shape a person’s emotional world.

Over time, I became increasingly drawn to work that focused on helping people better understand themselves and navigate these challenges in healthier, more sustainable ways. This led me to pursue training in psychotherapy and to begin working directly with individuals seeking support for issues such as depression, anger, grief, trauma, and chronic stress.

Today, my work focuses on creating a grounded and collaborative space where people can explore their experiences, build emotional awareness, and move toward meaningful change.
